Tibet is a province of China and borders on  India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar (Burma) and includes a portion of Mt. Everest.   On July 1, 2006, a train from Beijing to Lhasa opened and is the world's highest train climbing to nearly 5,000 meters (16,500 feet).
